The main reason I chose to study digital design is the fact that I have always enjoyed producing art. Whether it be a silly drawing in my sketchbook or me spray painting on canvas I have always loved it. I have keen memories of the young Will always trying to impress his mom and dad with his silly drawings. I can't tell you how many of my earliest designs are still magnetized to the old fridge! I knew I loved drawing and I learned about a cool sounding digital design program at a place called Warren Tech. To start, I got accepted to Warren Tech, and this is truly when my digital design career grew and blossomed into what it is today. The reason I loved Warren Tech so much is because it is a unique high school that treats you as an adult. They give you deadlines and real contacts and real design jobs. I worked with companies such as- Never Summer Industries, TB ESports, The Arvada Center, ITW Miller Welding, and so much more. They pushed me to become a better artist and designer when I was there. The mentors - Mr. O, Mr. C and Mrs. M were phenomenal teachers and they really made me want to be a full time designer. I loved every minute of my time at Warren Tech. They helped me learn the basics in the Adobe packages and they taught me useful tips in both designing on the computer and photography. I knew that once my time was up there, I wanted to continue my design career. I ended up choosing CU Denver, as the digital design programs there help produce quality designers. I hope one day to own my own clothing brand (Stray Waves) and I hope to produce good designs that are actually meaningful and could potentially brighten someone's day.
